How reliable is "Forbes.com" in the information that they provide about businesses?

Posted by admin on June 24th, 2010 and filed under forbes | 1 Comment »

I came across an article that Forbes.com posted about the company I currently work for. They reported that Pacsun might possibly go out of business this year. What do you think?

They are a reliable source. But remember this is all analyst talking and writing. They don’t have insider information such as day to day profits or losses. The go based off quarterly reported information from the company. They try to predict what will happen, just as wall street does. Except wall street usually can scare investors more easily. :)

Steve Forbes advocates a flat tax and a return to the gold standard. Is he a genius or a dope?

Posted by admin on June 20th, 2010 and filed under forbes | 5 Comments »

Has he ever DONE anything, or is he just a rich boy who inherited big bucks and a magazine?

Wow…. do some research before you start disparaging people’s accomplishments.

    What have you done?

A return to the gold standard and a flat tax are financial strokes of genius.

What are Your Predictions for Oscar De La Hoya vs. Steve Forbes?

Posted by admin on June 18th, 2010 and filed under forbes | 9 Comments »

The fight is this weekend. What do you expect to happen and what would you like to see happen? Where do you think these fighters will go after this fight in both a win or lose scenario?

What I expect to happen: Oscar De La Hoya beats Steve Forbes by a lopsided unanimous decision. If Grady Brewer could beat Forbes at 150 pounds, then I have no doubt that Oscar can beat him easily at that weight. Oscar will use his jab a lot and use this fight to test out certain things that he has been working on in the gym with Floyd Mayweather, Sr.

What I would like to see happnen: I would like for Forbes to beat Oscar so that he could spare us of Mayweather-De La Hoya 2. I would also like to see him win because he is the huge underdog and he never talks bad about any of his opponents- he is a good, hard-working fighter that tries his best, just like Oscar, but I would like to see him pull off the upset, even though I know it won’t happen.

Where Oscar goes if he wins: A big money rematch with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in September. Then, the final fight of his career in December against an opponent to be named, possibly; Miguel Cotto, Manny Pacquiao, or Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr.

Where Oscar goes if he loses: Don’t be surprised to see the Mayweather rematch still come off if Oscar somehow loses the fight. He is always going to have the power to make it happen because he is the richest fighter in the game and therefore, would be able to make any fight that he wants regardless of how he performs. Remember that Zab Judah lost to Carlos Baldomir and still got the Mayweather fight.

Where Forbes goes if he wins: The cover of every sporting magazine with a "real-life Rocky!" subtitle (kind of like Buster Douglas). In terms of fights, he would obviously be a major player after beating Oscar and would be able to get a shot against mostly anyone around his weight (140 pounds).

Where Forbes goes if he loses: He will have nothing to be ashamed of for having lost to a much bigger, and stronger fighter that he was outgunned against from the beginning. If he manages to go the distance (which I think he will), then people will give him a lot of credit and his marketability would go up regardless after having fought the biggest name fighter of this generation. He would still probably be able to secure a title shot against someone around his weight class (remember that he was blatantly robbed against the undefeated top contender, Demetrius Hopkins).

How Come Less Than 1% Of Forbes 400 Richest Americans Are Black ?

Posted by admin on June 15th, 2010 and filed under forbes | 15 Comments »

Among Forbes list of the 400 richest Americans, well below 1% of the people on that list are Black when Blacks make up 14% of the general U.S population. Oprah is the only person Black person on that list. Also why are there more Asian billionaires than Black billionaires in the U.S when Asians make up only 4% of the U.S population.

They’re too busy keepin it real in da hood.

How many of the Forbes 400 are former Marines?

Posted by admin on June 7th, 2010 and filed under forbes | 1 Comment »

I know Donal Bren and Alan Gerry are at least two. I recall there being as many as 4 or 5 at one point and at least two of them being pilots.

    Not many.

It is a common myth that alot of Forbes 400 are former Marines.

I actually went and looked at the CEO’s of the top 10 once, none were Marines, one was Air Force, the rest had no military experience at all.

Its just an internet myth, kind of like " stress cards " that just won’t go away.
