good question. I believe that this field works best on referral basis. If I were a high net worth individual I wouldn’t go looking on the internet for investment advisors. I would ask the people who I associate "who their guy was".
A lot of clients are found doing seminars, give away some free advice in return for names and numbers. Go through the local churches, temples and organizations. Give a retirement planning seminar, serve coffee, doughnuts. April is coming up.. help the elderly file their taxes. You’ll make a name for yourself in your community and you’ll get to see what they have in their bank accounts, you can then suggest that you could set up a investment plan for them.

Do you know how to market your web site and optimize for various search engines, especially Google? I would try to optimize my Web site to increase traffic through both organic and sponsored search results. Good luck.
